Neurolysis is the deliberate destruction of a nerve or an interlocking network of nerves (plexus) with the goal of providing permanent pain relief by interrupting the transmission of pain signals on the nerves.
Nerve block or plexus refer to temporarily block the function of a nerve by injecting analgesics into the area around the affected nerve, thereby blocking the transmission of pain signals. This temporarily disables the nerve without causing permanent damage.
