Interventional Radiology - Nephrostomy

Nephrostomy is a surgical intervention which consists of making an opening in a kidney, in order to look for a stone or to drain it.

It allows the resolution of ureteral obstruction and recovery of the renal function in patients with obstructive uropathy.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN:

  • The patient should fast 4 hours prior to the exam, bring the coagulation study and usual medication.
  • If you are taking any anticoagulant and / or antiplatelet medication you should inform us by the time the exam is scheduled.
